Nội dung bài hát kể về một chàng trai mồ côi cha, khi cậu ta còn nhỏ cậu ta sống với mẹ. Mẹ cậu ta thường kể cho cậu một câu chuyện cổ tích về một phù thủy bị mù nhưng có thể thấy "các màu sắc bị mất đi" và vị phù thủy đó sống sâu trong rừng. Đó là câu chuyện cổ tích kì lạ, ẩn chứa nhiều ý nghĩa: Hai mẹ con có cuộc sống rất khó khăn, trước mắt họ phủ đầy một màu đen tối xám xịt (phù thủy mù), nhưng đó chỉ là tạm thời rồi một ngày kia cuộc sống của họ sẽ thay đổi(có thể thấy "các màu sắc bị mất đi") theo chiều hướng tốt đẹp hơn (vị phù thủy đó sống sâu trong rừng). Rồi một ngày nọ mẹ cậu mất, vào hoàn cảnh khó khăn đó cha của cô bé gặp được cậu và mang cậu về nhà của ông ấy. Cha của cô bé là một ông chủ, ông ta đối xử rất tốt với công nhân của mình cũng như với cậu bé, ông ấy đối xử với cậu như một thành viên trong gia đình, cô bé và cậu ta chơi rất thân với nhau. Nhưng rồi cuộc sống tốt đẹp đó không kéo dài được lâu, cha của cô bé phá sản và tài sản của ông ta thuộc về một kẻ khác. Thời điểm đó cô bé chuyển đi nơi khác còn cậu bé phải ở lại làm công nhân cho người chủ mới. Người chủ mới đối xử với họ như nô lệ, hầu như ai cũng sợ ông ta và tất cả mọi người dần dần bị trói buộc vào ông ta không cách nào có thể thoát ra được. Cậu bé cũng trở thành một trong số họ nhưng cậu vẫn nhớ câu chuyện cổ tích đó, cậu vẫn mang trong mình một ý chí ẩn sâu bên trong. Một ngày nọ cậu chợt thấy cô bé, ngay lập tức cậu gọi mọi người đến xem nhưng lúc đó cô đã đi và mọi người lúc đó nghĩ cậu đã hoa mắt hoặc là đang nói dối. Không chấp nhận việc này, vào đêm tối cậu lẻn ra ngoài tìm kiếm cô bé. Và cậu đã tìm được cô, ngay lúc đó cậu chợt tìm lại được con người thật của mình, một con người cậu muốn trở thành. Giây phút đó cậu đã phá được sợi xích vô hình trói buộc bản thân bấy lâu.
